Fees & Insurance
Unfortunately, our health care system is not designed as well as we’d like. It’s built around private insurance companies which have a tendency to create bureaucratic obstacles to treatment rather support quality long-term patient care, particularly in the area of mental health. Consequently, like many private psychiatry practices, I do not participate in insurance networks.
If you would like to use your insurance benefits, I can provide a “superbill” on request. This is basically a receipt that has details insurance companies require such as diagnosis and treatment. Certain insurance plans (e.g. PPOs) will accept such documentation in support of claims for out-of-network (OON) benefits. To determine if your plan provides such benefits, quote the following CPT codes to your insurance carrier:
– initial evaluations: 99204
– follow-ups: 99214
Fees
An inital evaluation lasts 60 minutes and costs $300.
Regular follow-up appointments with established patients last 30 minutes and cost $150.
New patients provide valid payment details when booking their first appointment. All major cards, including HSA/FSA cards, are accepted. Payment details are vaulted securely by our payments processor: we do not hold them directly.
Your payment method will be pre-authorized in advance of each appointment.
Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations/no-shows are charged a $75 fee. This fee is applied automatically to the card on file.
